What benefit is there to be able to buy at New York Wholesale Prices?
No longer only for VIP’s or those individuals with connections, The Diamond District is the only store of its kind in all of Florida. We are providing a way for you to purchase certified loose diamonds and diamond jewelry at 30% to 40% below retail jewelry store prices.

What is a certified diamond?

A certified diamond is a diamond that has been weighed, measured, color and clarity graded and its cut determined at a major laboratory by individuals trained only in diamonds. These individuals grade and certify daily as a profession.

How do I know I’m getting what I bought?
All the diamonds we sell that are .50 carat and above are certified. Therefore, each diamond has been graded, registered and plotted. By comparing the diamond against the original certificate, any reputable appraiser can verify that the diamond is the one identified by the certificate.

What is an Appraisal?
Each diamond we sell comes with a free appraisal. This appraisal will match the information on the certificate. The appraisal provides you with the replacement value of the diamond. We offer an appraisal service on diamonds that were not purchased from us as well.

Does the shape of the diamond have any effect on the price?
Yes. Round brilliant cut diamonds are traditionally priced the highest. Fancy cut shapes usually cost less because they produce less waste when cutting.

Do you carry “Ideal Cut” Diamonds?
“ Ideal Cut” Diamonds are extremely rare and only account for about 5% of the diamonds in the market today. We carry these as well as many of the other premium cut diamonds in all shapes and sizes.

Can I see the difference from one color or clarity grade to the next?
The brilliance of a diamond is determined by the quality of its cut, not its color or clarity. When cut properly it is very difficult to see the difference between two color grades, F-G, G-H, etc., if the diamonds are faced up. In clarity, from the grade of SI2 and up, normally one can not see anything in the diamond with the naked eye. Therefore clarity has to be determined by use of a 10X loupe.

What is fluorescence, and how does it affect a diamond?
Fluorescence is an emission of light from within a diamond and can occur naturally. To detect it a “black” or ultraviolet light must be used. Yellow fluorescence and in some cases strong blue fluorescence may make a diamond appear cloudy or milky, even under daylight. In “lower” colors, “I” and below, some blue fluorescence may help the diamond to appear whiter than it technically is. Fluorescence information is always available on the certificate.

What is the best way to care for and clean my diamond?
There are several ways to keep your diamond clean. The best and safest is always to bring your diamond in to our store and have it professionally cleaned free of charge. You can clean your diamond at home by using a bowl of warm, sudsy water with a bit of mild liquid detergent. Brush your diamond with a soft brush and rinse in warm water. Dry your diamond with a soft lint-free cloth.

What if I want to upgrade my diamond?
If you ever decide to upgrade your diamond, we will give you the original purchase price towards your new diamond. You will have the privilege of trading for a diamond of equal or greater value.

What type of Payment do you accept?
We accept Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card, Cashier Checks, Money Orders, Wire Transfer and Personal Checks. We also have interest free financing available.

If I have an out of state address do I have to pay sales tax?
If you have an out of state address you will NOT be charged sales tax as long as we are shipping your item out of the state of Florida. We ship packages Globally using overnight services anywhere in the Continental U.S.

What is the cost of shipping?
The cost of out-of-state shipping (within the United States), including handling and insurance starts at $45.

Why doesn't Southwest Florida's Diamond District put inventory on the web site?
Our inventory changes often and we do not want to mislead our customers; or, publish a diamond you become interested in and when you cal to inquire about that specific diamond you're told its "not available" or "already sold". Every request is answered immediately with a list of diamonds from our inventory available to you at that moment.

Does Southwest Florida's Diamond District ever have a sale?
Unlike fashion clothing, diamonds never go out of style. Most clothing stores will run sales at the end of the season to get rid of that season's fashions and make room for the new season. Some things always go out of style, but diamonds are always in fashion. A "sale" is just another retail gimmick to make you think you are getting a good deal. With our New York Wholesale Prices, Southwest Florida's Diamond District offers the lowest prices on diamonds every day. No gimmicks! Don't be fooled by Retail Sales - be prepared.
